NASCAR, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, was founded in February 1948. The primary supporter of the early days of NASCAR was William “Bill” France. At the time, he was working as an automobile mechanic. He gathered the enthusiasm that still takes to the race track today. NASCAR held its first race in 1949 at the Charlotte Speedway, North Carolina.
Since these humble beginnings, NASCAR has gained a global fan base. Most fans are concentrated in the southeast United States. While the sport is no longer at its peak popularity, it still draws large crowds.
A primary component of NASCAR culture is the endorsements received by drivers. Brand name loyalty bleeds into the fan base based on who sponsors their favorite driver. NASCAR is set apart in the world of sports by the fan’s undeniable loyalty and enthusiasm for racing. Do you think you know everything about NASCAR?
